Mumbai Market Has Eye on Hong Kong Show - There are many overseas and domestic buyers in the market and there is a clear demand for goods, but transactions have been slowed considerably due to the differences in asking and offering prices. The 5-7% increase in the price of rough diamonds at the February De Beers Diamond Trading Company (DTC) sight is the main factor in sellers’ insistence on higher polished prices.

GJEPC Lauds Top Achievers At IGJA 2016

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis graced the 43rd India Gem & Jewellery Awards (IGJA) 2016 hosted by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) to recognise and reward star performers of the Indian gem and jewellery sector. The event was hosted by actors Sakshi Tanwar and Husain.
IGJA has become one of the foremost recognition platforms for the jewellery sector in India to encourage exports and award excellence in manufacturing, finance and innovation.
Several luminaries from the gems and jewellery sector were present on the occasion. Sevantilal Shah, founder partner, Venus Jewel, won the Lifetime Achievement award. State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank and Vijaya Bank won awards for Best Banks Financing the Industry. Sunita Sekhawat picked up the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award.
